DJ Epps Bio

When it comes down to rocking parties DJ Epps is definitely the man to call. Born Yves Felix, a Haitian-American, was born and raised in Manhattan, New York, where during his early years found his passion to become a DJ. Listening to one of New York City’s finest urban radio personalities, DJ Red Alert played the hip-hop greats of the 80’s such as Big Daddy Kane, Special Ed, and KRS-1, along with other great DJ’s such as Kid Capri, Mister Cee, Doo Wop, Tony Touch and of coarse Funkmaster Flex, all of which had an instant impact of him. Around the tender age of 14, at a house party in the neighborhood, little Yves Felix got his very first chance to rock the crowd. DJ Epps was born… Epps and his mother moved to Florida during his teenage years and once in Miami, Epps found his way to the streets and quickly became apart of Miami’s Hip-Hop culture. One day walking along South Beach, with crates in hand and looking for a chance, Epps met promoter Big Rich, owner of The Sugar Shack, leading to his first opportunity and soon after Epps began playing at his parties every week. Then along comes promoter Chris Pachello, owner of the legendary Fat Black Pussy Cat at Liquids, gave Epps his first big club gig so now he’s mingling every night with super celebrities like Harrison Ford, Lil Kim, Michael Jordan just to name a few. DJ Epps exploded onto Miami’s Hip-Hop scene well over 10 years ago at The Sugar Shack. Soon after Promoter Big Rich moved away from the promoting scene, Epps gained more publicity by  being resident for chris pacello's legendary "Fat Black Pussycat" at Club Liquid at the time. he passed along his legacy to Epps to form his own promotion company called Nightbreederz Entertainment.

Through this company, He began heavy promotions and very soon began establishing gigs all around the country, like B.E.T.’s Rap City with Big Tigger or The Roof, which is a Hip-Hop selection show airing on MUN2. Soon after that Epps became a pioneer in the game that helped to make Miami one the nation’s hottest Hip Hop party scenes." If you don't know, you better ask somebody?" DJ Epps’ versatile style of mixing, blending and scratching has solidified his place as one of Miami’s most talented and successful DJ’s. So not only does DJ Epps flip records, but he host video mix shows, keep you rocking in the car to his Power 96 radio mixes or host mixtapes for his celebrity friends, he’s also the co-founder and co-owner of a successful marketing and promotions company called Nightbreederz Marketing and Promotions. Nightbreederz Marketing and Promotions is a company founded by DJ Epps & former Manager 210-Jack. Through his hard work and dedication, DJ Epps have been able to secure different opportunities throughout the entertainment community, such as him having the position with G-Unit as a representative supporting all there up and coming projects, or traveling the globe to places like Taiwan, Nicaragua, Germany, Switzerland, China, Austria, France, Finland, Ireland, Italy to showcase, not only his skills on the ones and two's, but to show his ability to function as an executive. Epps has been fortunate to worked with Interscope Records and Warner Bros Records breaking new artists, as well as street marketing and promotions. He’s also a South Eastern Rep for Shadyville DJ's, a national DJ Association run by G-Units DJ Whoo Kid for Sirius Satellite, where he’s been given power to induct new DJs for Shadyville to break new records in certain regions. Through Nightbreederz Ent, he has also assembled a collection of DJ's throughout Germany to work together with his company to break new artist all around Europe. He was voted "best DJ in Miami" by the Source Magazine in 1999-2000, Also has received "Best dj of the year" in 2010 and has hosted thousands of mix tapes for platinum recording artist, as well as unsigned.

During his journey, Epps was the host of an underground hip-hop show called Video Mix for over 3 years, as well as, the host for the Hoodlife Cipher DVD series and the SMACK DVD series based out of New York, which also gave him much needed experience in front of the camera. DJ Epps’ hard work has paid off from his positive outlook on his future; creating a positive following, plus having an outstanding track record. Doing so, Epps has grabbed the attention of an Top 40/pop radio station in Miami called Power 96 securing him a solid weekend mix show every Friday and Saturday from 10pm-12am . He’s also worked for Clear Channel's "103.5 The Beat" for 5 years with the #1 Friday and Saturday night shows and over that past 5 years Epps has been able to establish solid relationships with super celebrities such as 50 Cent, Busta Rhymes and Diddy. Epps took full advantage of this opportunity, finding himself working for this station in several different capacities such as a mixer, assistant music director, as well as an on-air personality. Putting your feet to the pavement in search of success, coupled with a lot of hard work, dedication and persistence will always lead you through to a path of greatness. Your ability to remain humble with a sound mind is critical; it allows you to stay focused with the ability keep your eyes fixed on the prize! DJ Epps lives his life by these words and now the corporate world had taken notice to his uniqueness, trendy styles and ability to show leadership as an endorser for any corporate sponsored products or services worldwide. One of his first corporate sponsors came with the signing of South-Pole Clothing Line, and he also was sponsored by the Gino Green Clothing Line and is looking forward to new corporate partnerships in the near future.
